Human hearts
“Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, letters of commendation to you or from you? You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:1-3 NASB)
If you look long enough you will be able to see into anyone’s heart. You will see intentions, passion, hopes, and dreams on their hearts. What recommends them is plain to see. It is written not with ink that will smudge, be blotted out, or thrown away but with something that will last forever - the Spirit of God. It is written on their heart and can be seen by anyone that cares to look. It can be seen through the words they speak, their attitude, their actions, the arguments they have, the things they love, and their eyes can even tell you.
A) Remember others can see your heart. For good or bad the writing on the wall is unmistakeable.
B) Look past the surface and see the truth inside a person’s heart. Let the Spirit of God show you. I guarantee you it will change how you see everything.
C) Not only can people see your heart through you but they can also see your heart through the people you lead, love, and speak into. Be careful and handle those people like they are the most precious thing in the world.
Day 3 of 20 days of miracles
Man oh man. I believe today I saw and focused on two miracles that have happened to me.
The first is that yesterday and the day before I wasn’t feeling well. In intervals a sharp pain would go from one side of my stomach to the other. I got to the point where when it would happen I would stop whatever I was doing and bend over slightly in pain. Yesterday I was asking God just to take that pain away. This morning I woke up with no pain. Thank you, Jesus.
Second is that I had a renewing of my mind. We all know that Jesus came down to this earth to die for us and wash away our sins but we forget how much that is for ME! I was reminded today that Jesus is wild about me. He is so in love with me that He died for me. No only did He die but He is currently dying because He lives outside time and space. So He was always, is, and will always be dying for ME. Jesus is wild about me and He is wild about you.
Day #1 of 20 days of miracles
I thought the miracle for each day would be a simple post on Facebook and I would be done with it but I find myself not being about to write out the miracle of the day in 140 characters or so. Miracles are not always in your face. Sometimes you have to look for them and focus on them or you might not notice they are there.
Today I met with Daniel at a coffee shop in Palmdale to do devotionals. If you don’t know he’s my/our intern at Life Church. He is an incredible guy and really is on fire for following the calling God has over his life. We started talking about gifts of the Spirit and how they work and what we have to do to allow Him to work through us in our day to day lives.
I started to think about lighting when shooting a film. There are fabrics that are used to block or filter light. A flag is something that blocks all the light behind that from coming through.
I had the realization, with the help of Daniel, that the Holy Spirit is shining with all of His brightness inside of our hearts but sometimes we think it’s too bright or that we aren’t worthy to have Him shine for all to see inside of us. So we take one flag or 2 or sometimes many more and block the light until people can no longer see it. We made the connection that every time we allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us, or heal through us, or encourage through us we are poking a hole through that flag and letting some of that light shine through. I wish we could just cut it in half but we get in our own way sometimes.
My miracle today was poking another hole through my flag. We decided its our job to step out of the way and let God work. With that decision alone we poked a hole through the flag and someone else gets to see the Light.
In order to share what I am feeling I decided to post 10 songs that have changed who I am lately. I was trying to think of different things I could write but none of them were with the right heart. This is the only thing that’s true and real. These are in no particular order.

“But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him to reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.” Galatians 1:15,16
If God appointed me to go in this direction no man has a right to tell me I’m wrong.

Abba Father Mark 14:36
“Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” -Mark 14: 36
Abba is a word that has been translated from Aramaic to Greek. It is a way to use father in a familiar way-daddy. Jesus is just about to be arrested and killed. He cries out to God. I can just imagine this night. “Dad please don’t make me do this.” It breaks my heart just thinking about it. Jesus was ready to do whatever God wanted but He was crying out to God. That must have broken God’s heart. It’s weird to think of God in those terms but His heart breaks for the lost so how is this any different?
I am not a parent but my dad has told me that he has felt sick whenever I have been sick, in the hospital, or drugged up (you know pain meds lol) Parents want to do whatever they can to protect their children. I can imagine God feeling like that but at a much higher level. In that moment He could have done something to help His Son but He saw something else in the future- me and you. In order to protect us and save us He had to sacrifice His own Son. Woah, how He loves us! Remember this when you are scared to share what you believe, you don’t feel like discipling, you feel alone, or you are angry with God.
“Father, Abba Father, I cry out before you. I know you have my best interest at heart. You let Your Son die for me. Let my heart break for what breaks yours. Hold my hand. Lead me and stop me from falling.”
